Padmini – Spiritual Guide® (blue-box / charcoal version)

Good day. Well, this review will be kind of controversial for me, because I have refused to rate and burn charcoal-dipped incense for a long time. And, probably, nothing would change if someday, when I placed my new Exotic Incense order, I hadn’t bought this incense. My eyes caught this beautiful box, which has a very nice and retro-styled packaging.

I love this design

I ordered it without any thoughts about the charcoal base. And only when I had received it, I realized that it’s fully charcoal sticks with perfumed oil in which they were dipped. It has taken a lot of time for me to start to explore this incense, which, btw, has a lot of reviews and feels like an unbreakable classic of the Indian incense world. If I understand right, it can be compared with the classic blue-box Nag Champa from Srinivas Sugandhalaya LLP (Satya) by brand awareness.

I’m doing a review on the big-pack of 50 sticks inside.

It has a very dreamy vibe

First experience was very unusual, that’s a pretty high quality charcoal and perfumed base. Aroma is strong, long-lasting, very pure and bright.

Simple charcoal base in macro

Hard to say what kind of notes it has in the composition, but if to talk like I always do in these cases — talk with associations, I can describe it like that:

«Couple days till New Year, somewhere in a post-USSR country, holiday atmosphere is almost everywhere, New Year is coming very soon. You are already on vacation, you no need to go to school. Your family is together, they gave you gifts. Cold air on the outside, warm air inside of the room, heavy and bold retro-(USSR)-perfume notes all around your apartment, cause your aunt who works somewhere in a museum uses this perfume a lot on herself. It’s not a deep perfume with a lot of notes, it’s just a simple perfumed mix, where you feel only the general perfumed composition.»

This incense gives a really deep and physical nostalgia, without any “empty nostalgia” or “nostalgia about something what never happened”. It’s really a very common perfume, and most people, probably, will understand this feeling when they try this incense.

This perfumed base does not feel like some hard chemical, it does not cause headaches, or eyes burn… So it has good quality.

This incense — my own, personal trip to New Year’s days in a post-USSR country.

Highly recommend to try (at least once)
